TYPES OF CUSTOM SIGNAGE

BLADE SIGNS

Blade signs typically hang from the front of a business perpendicular to the wall and make locations easily found. They are useful for areas where there is a lot of foot traffic and outdoor stores or strip malls. It allows customers to see your location from close or afar.  Often times, a location can be missed when passerby are walking down a street because they’re looking forward.  However, blade signs help get in the face of potential customers a bit easier.  We can help with design, print, and installation to existing hardware.

DIRECTIONAL/ WAYFINDING SIGNS

If it’s a customer’s first time visiting your place of business, chances are, it may be a little difficult for them to pinpoint your exact location initially. Directional signage is a good use of visual content to help guests understand where to find parking, exits, restrooms and much more. This is especially helpful in larger buildings with no clear signage directing foot traffic which way to go.  Directional signage can also be useful for businesses in hidden locations or that are temporarily blocked with construction.  Wayfinding signage can be great in museums, at events, and in hotels.  Whether your needs are permanent or temporary, we can help provide a solution for you.

INTERIOR SIGNAGE

Interior and office signage offer great benefits that contribute to the functionality, efficiency, and overall atmosphere of a workspace. Signage in the workspace is more than just directional aids; it serves as a valuable tool for enhancing communication, productivity, safety, and brand image within the workplace. Investing in well-planned and strategically placed signage can lead to significant improvements in both the functionality and aesthetics of your office environment.

RAISED LETTERING (SOLID & LIT)

Separate yourself from the competition with raised lettering. We have options in acrylic and also metal to help your business name shine. With raised lettering creating a 3-D look, visibility will be maximized.  This can go on storefronts or inside of an office to reinforce company branding.  It doesn’t just end with 3-dimensional lettering though.  You also have the option of LED lit dimensional signs.  These can be just your business name or it can be your full logo.  The LED options are:

  • Halo lit – a halo effect is created by the light shining from behind the dimensional letters
  • Face lit –  the light is directly illuminating the face of the letters

PROCESS OF CUSTOM SIGNAGE

  • Creating custom signage at SpeedPro East Bay or any large-format print shop involves a few key steps. Here’s a general outline of the process:
    1. Planning & Design Phase:
      • Customer Intel: It all begins with the customers vision for the signage. This can be anything from store signage, banners, vehicle wraps, trade show displays, or custom graphics. The purpose, style, and branding of the signage is very important for the customer and their business. Understanding what will be produced is the first step to your custom signage.
      • Design Work: SpeedPro East Bay provides graphic design services as well as accepts print-ready artwork from the customer. Graphic design services include choosing colors, fonts, logos, and layout to ensure the signage is visually appealing and effective.
      • Proofing: A digital proof is created and sent to the client for approval. Any adjustments or revisions are made at this stage to meet the client’s vision.
    2. Material Selection:
      • SpeedPro East Bay offers a wide variety of materials for different types of signs, such as vinyl, fabric, foam boards, PVC, acrylic, and more. Depending on the project’s location (indoor or outdoor), durability requirements, and aesthetic preferences, the right material is selected.
    3. Printing:
      • Once the design is finalized and materials are chosen, the printing process begins. Large-format printers are used to print the design onto the selected materials. Prints can have a gloss finish or matte finish. From our Canon Arizona 1360 UV flatbed printer we are able to produce high quality varnish prints, white ink prints, and textured prints.
      • We also provide lamination services for extra protection, especially for outdoor signs.
    4. Cutting & Shaping:
      • After printing, the signage is often cut to size or shaped into the desired format (e.g., rounded corners, custom shapes). This may involve using cutting tools like a plotter or CNC machine.
      • Cut vinyl signage starts with a plotter that cuts the designs from solid-colored vinyl or custom printed vinyl This is ideal for logos, lettering, and simple shapes. It is then weeded of excess vinyl and masked to hold the design in place for easy transfer to surfaces.
    5. Assembly (if needed):
      • If the signage involves multiple components (e.g., sign frames, posts, or mounting hardware), assembly is done. This may include attaching the sign to a stand, adding grommets for hanging, or preparing it for installation.
    6. Quality Control:
      • Before it’s handed off to the client, a quality check is conducted to ensure that the print quality, colors, and cutting accuracy meet expectations.
    7. Delivery & Installation:
      • After everything is produced, the signage is either picked up by the customer or delivered. SpeedPro East Bay also provides installation services which includes everything from wall graphics, vehicle wraps, and window decals to large outdoor signs. Our installation team ensures that the signage is installed properly, whether it’s on a building, vehicle, or event space, for a clean and polished finish.
